Advocacy and Networking for a Better Food System

Slow Food Kenya strengthens networking and partnerships with a diverse pool of like-minded organizations, county governments, research and learning institutions. It is a member of Biodiversity and Biosafety Association of Kenya (an organization that raises awareness on genetic engineering and lobbies against the introduction of GMOs in Kenya) as well as of the Participatory Ecological Land Use Management Network (PELUM, Kenya), an indigenous African network that brings together Non-Governmental Organizations (NGOs), Community Based Organizations (CBOs) and other networks working with small scale farmers.

We organize and participate in policy dialogues that aim at reviewing and advancing pro-people policies and legislations that transforms the food system and ensures that good, clean and fair food is a fundamental right of all Kenyan citizens. Advocacy initiatives are evolved to counter the threats to agro-food biodiversity.
