Slow Food Kenya is very excited to announce that we are hosting a group of 15 students from the University of Gastronomic Sciences (UNISG) in Pollenzo, Italy, for the next 10 days. UNISG is a unique institution that offers interdisciplinary education on food, culture, and sustainability. It was founded and promoted in 2004 by the Slow Food movement, which we are proud to be part of.
The students are here to learn about our work and vision of promoting good, clean, and fair food for all. They will visit and interact with different agro ecological farmers, stakeholders and enterprises that we support and partner with across the country. They will also participate in various activities such as cooking classes, tasting sessions and cultural events.
Our aim is to share our knowledge and experiences with the students, as well as to learn from them and their diverse backgrounds. We hope to create a fruitful exchange that will enrich both sides and foster mutual understanding and collaboration.
We believe that this visit is a great opportunity to showcase the diversity and richness of our food heritage, as well as the challenges and opportunities that we face in the context of climate change, food insecurity, and social injustice. We also hope to inspire the students to become ambassadors of agro ecology and food sovereignty in their own communities and beyond.
